Russian Tourism Visas

Russian tourism visas are required of all visitors to Russia for tourism purposes. The visas are easy to obtain but do require an invitation from an organization or group inside Russia. Don't worry about that, because your tour guide or hotel can provide that for you in advance.

If you are planning on visiting Russia, you will need to send in your paperwork and required documents at least two weeks in advance. Russian tourism visas can be processed on the same day they are received at the embassy, but this require a hefty additional fee. The visa application document can be found online as a PDF file or Microsoft Word file.

In addition to the application documents, you must provide your passport, a passport-sized photo, a self-addressed pre-paid express mail envelope, and a check or money order for the consulate and processing fees. The fees range from $150 to $600, depending on how fast you want your application processed. Checks should be made out to Russian National group. All documents should be sent to the Russian Consulate office nearest you.
