If I wanted to travel through Britain again, I would opt for using British rail tours instead of trying to maneuver a car through the country roads. If you're not used to driving on the right side of the street or on extremely narrow one lane roads, you'll be doing little more than trying to keep you and your passengers alive.
Ok, so that's a little dramatic, but my experience driving through Britain was draining. Cars come speeding at you from the opposite direction, and you swear they'll hit you, or you'll have to go off into a ditch. The country was beautiful when I finally could look up or stop for some Guinness. Otherwise, I missed out. Plus, gas prices are high. Trains are the best way.
