The Aurora train is the winter season train in Alaska that travels from Anchorage to Fairbanks. The trains run on Saturdays and Sundays, and you can plan to take small trips to particular destinations within the two cities. You'll also have the option of traveling on the Hurricane Express train on Thursdays, which is another winter train. If you're visiting Anchorage and you wanted to travel to Denali National Park, for example, you could make an easy weekend trip by taking the Aurora train on Thursday morning and returning Sunday afternoon.
Take the Aurora Train to Visit Alaska in Winter

Winter Season for the Aurora train schedule starts in late September and continues until early May. This time of year can be an excellent time to visit Alaska, because it's less popular. You won't have difficulty booking trips on the Aurora train, and the prices are very reasonable.
