If you are thinking about investing in a private executive jet for business travel, there are a few things you should know. Unlike automobiles, it isn't always cost effective to purchase a jet outright. Depending on the amount of travel your company requires as well as the number of travelers involved, you might be better off either leasing a private plane or choosing a time share package.
Executive Jet Sales Packages
There are many cost factors involved when you own a plane. For one thing, routing jet maintenance is extremely expensive. In addition, since you most likely do not have an aviator license, you will have to bear the salary of a professional pilot. When you lease a plane or share one with another company, however, you don't have to worry about these costs. All you do is show up and fly.
Executive jet sales packages vary depending on how often you plan to use the plane and where you plan to go. The package my company most often uses, for instance, is a domestic bulk hour package. Basically, this package allows for a certain number of flight hours used on a specific type of plane. This plane only flies domestically. Once these hours are used up, my company simply acquires another package.
If you are thinking about investing in an executive jet lease, make sure you do a tremendous amount of research on the company in question before you sign. Ask colleagues for references and check to make sure the company has been in good business for a number of years. In the end, I would rather spend more money with a reputable jet leasing company, than save money and risk losing my life.
