The Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is considered one of the best available Machu Picchu hotels. It's set high in a tropical cloud forest, and located in the village of Aguas Calientes, which is about a 30-minute ride from the ruins. It's been warmly and tastefully furnished to provide lodgers with supreme comfort and luxury.
The Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel was built with adobe bricks, eucalyptus, and stone. It offers a bar, restaurant, terrace, and flowering gardens that provide splendor with native species of plants. A business center will give those vacationing workaholics Internet access, and eco activities and beauty treatments such as foot therapy, Andean Sauna, and Thai Yoga massage are available.
More Peaks and Slight Valleys at Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel
The hotel has 83 twin bedded bungalow-style rooms, with nine junior suites, four of which have a fireplace. One downside to the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is that the hot water supply during peak season can be a problem. Access to Machu Picchu can also be a tad tricky with a walk along the railroad tracks from the bus stop to the ruins, coupled with a long flight of stairs to the main reception area.
Room rates for the Machu Picchu Hotel do vary. A single superior room will cost $335 per person, while a double superior room is $187 per person. A single suite is $480 per person, and a double suite is $259. These rack rates include the 10% service charge, breakfast and dinner, and four eco-activities.
