Hotels Near East Village

The hotels near the East Village offer very unique and beautiful styles, especially the boutique hotels. Perhaps this is because they are so close to the 'hub' of cultural activity. In either case, you will find that the hotels in the East Village have plenty to offer, including intimate lobby settings, personalized service and more. Boutique hotels also tend to be a little cheaper than the big hotel chains, and personally I like them a lot more.

New York's East Village
Once a center of counterculture with 50 years of history, the East Village is bounded by 14th Street on the north, the East River on the east, Houston Street on the south, and roughly the Bowery and Third Avenue on the west. It lies east of the world-famous Greenwich Village and SoHo, south of Stuyvesant Town, and north of the Lower East Side. The East Village is regarded by many as the 'Lower East Side.'

East Village includes the neighborhood known as Alphabet City. Alphabet City is home to a number of artists, musicians and students. You never know when visiting who might be putting on an impromptu concert or painting in the streets. This is a really interesting place to visit and one that any art-lover is sure to enjoy.

The East Village has been a very important place for developing new and progressive ideas in both music and performance art. Although once considered a slum area, it has been 'cleaned' up quite a bit. In fact a more corporate population has been moving into the area for a while now and it no longer is considered a bad part of town.
