Holiday Valley ski resorts have been popular tourist destinations during both the summer and prime ski season. Holiday Valley has 52 slopes, with 12 ski lifts on 1100 acres of beautiful land and is the largest ski resort in the state of New York. About 45 minutes from Buffalo, NY, this quaint ski town is always bustling with activity during the winter.
Holiday Valley skiing covers all ski levels and all types of skiing. You can ski, snowboard, or cross country, and if you need a few tips before you hit the slopes, you can always take a ski lesson from one of their pros. Usually the ski slops are open from 9am to 10pm at night, with 38 trails lit for nighttime skiing.
Holiday Valley Has Something For Every Skier
For snowboarders, there is a half-pipe. For advanced skiers, you'll find mogul runs and a run called "The Wall," which is the steepest slope in the western part of the state. Improvements to the lodges and slopes are constantly being made to keep the resort updated.
If snow is not falling from the ski, then Holiday Valley's great snowmaking system will kick into gear. When you are done skiing for the day, you can head down the road to Ellicottville, which is a unique little ski town that has shops, restaurants and bars. You can even look into Ellicottville accommodations, as it is a short drive to the slopes from that town.
