Branson fishing may not be what brings you to Branson, but it may well be what brings you back. Many people are under the misconception that Branson is all about music. While it's certainly true that music is the heartbeat of Branson, there's much more to it than that. If you enjoy a day out on the lake or stream, you'll find Branson fishing to be among the most enjoyable you've ever done. Being out there on the water, surrounded by the majestic Ozark mountains, will let you know that you are truly in God's country.
Branson Fishing Destinations
When it comes to Branson fishing, there are two destinations that you will not want to miss. The first is Lake Taneycomo. This unique body of water combines the characteristics of both a river and a lake to make for varied and exciting fishing. Lake Taneycomo is well known for its reputation as being chock full of beautiful trout and is suitable for both wading and bank fishing.
Table Rock Lake is the second lake that you'll definitely want to try. Table Rock is a warm water lake, and a world class spot to catch big, beautiful rainbow trout. Table Rock also offers excellent fresh water fishing of warm water species such as bass, crappie, channel cat, bream, and a few different varieties of panfish. Table Rock provides excellent fishing year round, seldom freezes and is never closed. What more could the avid angler ask for?
The best time to fish for largemouth bass in Branson is in the spring and fall. Branson fishing is pretty darn good most of the year, but depending on what you're trying to catch, you should check the fishing reports. Just don't forget that there's a lot to do in Branson! So schedule your itinerary to include a little bit of everything. You can always go fishing when you get home, but Kenny Rogers is going to stay in Branson.
