Because of its lakefront location, you can visit ten different lighthouses in Door County, in addition to miles of beautiful shorelines, galleries, museums, and performing arts venues.
For those who love outdoor scenery and beautiful vistas, Wisconsin has those things in spades. The French explorers who first communicated with the Winnebago Indians in the area described the beauty they saw. The first permanent American settlement in the area didn't take root until the mid 1800s, though. As a result, much of Door County is still pristine and unspoiled.
