Sister Bay, Wisconsin was first settled in the mid 1700s. This was before the United States had achieved independence from Britain. The town had a slow start, remaining a sleepy fishing village as the years rolled by. In 1848, Wisconsin became a state and in 1912, Sister Bay was incorporated.
Despite fires, hailstorms, and drought, the little village survived to become a sought-after vacation spot for many. These days, Sister Bay has about a thousand residents, with a couple thousand seasonal residents and tourists. If you're looking for a marina, you'll either come to Sister Bay or Sturgeon Bay--they have the only two marinas on the entire peninsula area.
