If you want to have fun in the water, try a swim up bar. This was the first time I had ever been to an all-inclusive resort and was mystified by everything that was going on around me. We were just sitting on lounge chairs by the pool and there was a nice warm breeze blowing and it started to get hot.

We weren't paying much attention to the pool, but when I got up to put my robe on to protect myself from sunburn, low and behold, what did I see was a pool in the bar. In only a few minutes, we were in the water and enjoying a nice cold drink. We sat at the barstools that are provided and met two couples. We were on our honeymoon and, coincidentally, one of the couples was too. They stayed a few minutes then left to go to their room.

A Swim Up Bar and New Friends
Two days later we went back to the pool bar and had a few drinks. After about an hour, the same couple we had met before that were on their honeymoon sat next to us. We started talking again and asked where they were from. Can you believe it; they lived in the town next to us. We asked when they got married and again another coincidence--they were married the same day as us.

Well, eventually we had to leave Cozumel and the swim up bar, but we never left our new friends. We took this vacation six years ago and have remained friends through all these years. We are now making plans to return to Cozumel next year and we look forward to sitting on those barstools at the pool bar.
