My husband and I visited Cozumel last January and had the best vacation ever. The weather was in the 80° F range and the sun was shining. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort that was absolutely beautiful. The all-inclusive covered everything, accommodations, restaurants, beverages, nightly entertainment and more activities than you can imagine. In addition to the amenities offered by the hotel, we ventured out of the hotel and went to the town.
We decided to rent a car and drive around Cozumel and were we glad we did. We drove to the westward side of the Island and saw some of the most beautiful beaches you could image. There are stretches of golden sand that are breathtaking. Then we went shopping it was so much fun. As it is a duty-free port, there were bargains everywhere I went.
There Is a Lot to Do
This island is widely known as one of the great diving destinations in the world, my husband who is an avid scuba diver was anxious to get to the coral reefs. Early morning we boarded a boat that took us to the south shore, which has exceptionally clear water. During the boat ride, the crew pointed out to us dolphins and flying fish and over 200 species of fish in these waters.
In addition to the coral reefs that are spectacular; there are underwater caves and ancient shipwrecks. Deep-sea fishing excursions are available where they catch white and blue Marlin and sail fish. In addition we stopped to see the lighthouse at the tip of island, and we made a reservation to see the historic Mayan ruins the next day.
