Palm Springs has long been a paradise destination for Californians weary of the smog and overcrowding of Los Angeles. Even Bugs Bunny used to tunnel his way towards Palm Springs. He usually ended up somewhere far less hospitable but by the end of the episode Bugs always seemed to find his way poolside with a piña colada.
Today Palm Springs is nicer than ever, an immaculate city with a small town feel. The temperature is similar to that of Las Vegas but the commute is slightly more manageable. Palm Springs is also more manageable because it lacks the congestion of a large city with overwhelming resort complexes.

Accommodation in Palm Springs is usually quite nice and affordable. Most hotels are easy to access and just as painless to escape from. This is good news for golfing fans eager to try out any of their surrounding world-class holes.
The best advice is to plan ahead. Palm Springs is certainly not a secret to convention planners eager for off-season weather with a small town feel. If you wait until the last minute or try scheduling a vacation during peak season, you could find yourself paying prices that make Vegas look cheap.
