The Imperial Palace is a great value if you’re looking to stay on the Strip but not pay for it. The location puts you right next to Harrahs, and right on the fringe of the larger mega-themed hotels. It’s no frills so don’t expect overly elaborate rooms but if you’re looking for value and location, this is the place.
Personal Perspective
I’ve actually had several friends stay at the Imperial Palace when they come to visit. The reasons are always the same: Strip location, and low price. But the casino is also easy to maneuver through. It has a simple layout (though not enough cheap blackjack tables if you ask me!) and it’s easy to get to and from your room.
One of the problems with many Strip casinos is that they try to lock you inside their own casino complex with an elaborate maze of casino wings that all look the same. When you finally escape the casino you often have to maneuver a complicated city of shopping corridors before you make it outside. If you’re there to take in the entire Vegas spectacle, this can be very annoying.
Of course, the Imperial Palace secret is out. I always suggest it for my budget-minded friends. The rooms are always moderately priced but 2,000 rooms always seem to fill up far more quickly than the Excalibur and Circus Circus.
