Arizona Hotel

Type in the words “Arizona” or “Hotel” into any search engine and you’re bound to pull up a thousand results that seem to say the same thing. Most may have flashing banners or other web “bling” designed to convince you that their hotel is the best. While the number of available options may seem daunting, consider that the advent of the Internet now allows you to shop for the best rate in a setting of your choice.

Of course, you first need to decide where you’d like to visit. Phoenix and the Grand Canyon are the obvious answers. They are worth visiting but just because you’re visiting there doesn’t mean you necessarily need to stay in the same place. Arizona may look large but the Grand Canyon and Phoenix are only a few hours apart, and in between there are more than a handful of worthy stops.

Some Like it Cold
Make a list of your favorite attractions. Sedona and Cottonwood are pristine all year-round and offer a scenery that really is just as spectacular as the Grand Canyon, while being perhaps a bit more accessible. Flagstaff is in the same general location and offers similar views, and cheaper accommodations.

Either way, staying in the elevated forest regions north of Phoenix can offer up to a 20° temperature swing. If you are interested in spending time near Phoenix, you might also consider a night or two in Scottsdale, which is only 20 minutes northeast. Scottsdale has world famous golf courses right out your back door. Book early enough and you should be able to find valuable deals.
