Seattle Airport Hotels

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), also known simply as Sea-Tac, is a very busy airport. On a yearly basis, Sea-Tac services over 25 million passengers and large amounts of freight. It is a major departure point for destinations around the globe, and a major hub for both United Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Sea-Tac has planned expansions that should position it to continue its dominance in the Pacific Northwest well into the new century.

Until those expansions are completed however, and particularly during them, Sea-Tac is suffering under the same difficulties as other major airports around the world. Though air travel has taken a hit in recent years, it has continued a trend of amazing growth that will likely only continue as the world becomes smaller and more populated. Unfortunately, the world's airports were neither designed nor built to handle the amount of traffic that currently flows through them.

The park, sleep, and fly industry has helped to ease the strain on many of the busiest air travel markets by moving travelers' parking services off of airport properties and onto nearby hotel properties. Hotels would much rather have a room occupied for one night than a parking space unoccupied for a week. If park, sleep, and fly services and other shuttle services stopped, every major airport would be hopelessly clogged with cars trying to find parking or reach the terminals.

Sea-Tac is situated nearly equidistant between Seattle and Tacoma (but a few miles closer to Seattle). In addition to hotels in each of those cities, there are no fewer than a dozen hotels within a two-mile radius of the airport. When you include all of the parking facilities of all of those hotels, the problem of finding parking at Sea-Tac disappears. Many of those hotels work with park, sleep, and fly companies and will gladly let you leave your car on their properties for the duration of your trip.
