Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW) is the busiest airport servicing Detroit, Michigan and the surrounding area. Many travelers fly out of Detroit City airport (DET) when they are able but DTW is by far the main option. DTW is roughly the same size and accommodates roughly the same number of passengers per year (upwards of 30 million) as Minneapolis Saint Paul International, which places it in the top 20 busiest airports worldwide.
DTW is situated along the outskirts of metropolitan Detroit, approximately 20 miles from the city center. This makes it accessible from a large number of the area's hotels. There are quite a few hotels surrounding the airport that serve a wide range of consumer needs, from roadside motels to full-service, upscale hotels. Park, sleep, and fly packages are rarely found at the upper or lower ends of the hotel/motel spectrum, with the majority of such packages being found in the middle.
High-class establishments eschew such "discount" practices but they often offer very similar services--they just do not refer to them as park, sleep, and fly, or "shuttle" services. To lure business travelers, mid-range (three-star) hotels have some of the best park, sleep, and fly options. For the price one might pay for a cheap motel and a week of airport parking, one can stay in a much nicer room, be shuttled to and from the airport, and have secure parking for the length of one's trip.
Booking a Park, Sleep, and Fly Package
Many online companies are dedicated to providing park, sleep, and fly packages to travelers and do nothing else. These companies usually get a small fee up-front from the consumer and a small fee from the hotel upon the traveler's completed payment. You should always take care to be certain of such a third party's policies before booking; a reputable site will have their policies easy accessible to consumers.
