Michigan Hotels

There are a many of Michigan hotels which cater to a variety of different travelers. Michigan is a strong city of commerce and trade, as well as tourism. Many business travelers enjoy staying in the greater Detroit area, because hotels are relatively inexpensive and it is easy to get in and out of the city. In addition, Detroit is adjacent to Ontario, Canada, and so there are many border crossings there.

There is much more to see in Michigan than Detroit, of course, and for tourists, the upper portions of the state hold a special fascination. If you are a Michigan College football fan, you'll have to visit Ann Arbor and East Lansing, homes of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, respectively. Ann Arbor, in particular, is a pretty little town that prides itself on being the alternative center of Michigan.

Traveling north, you will find many square miles of farmland that just look like the "heartland of America." Most tourists come to Michigan because of its abundance of water. In fact, it's called "the Great Lakes State," and the meaning is not lost in translation. A large portion of all Michigan's recreational activity is centered around the Great Lakes, from boating and yachting in the summer, to ice skating and ice fishing in the winter.

Luckily, there are Michigan hotels located all along the coastline (and a long coastline it is). Most are relatively inexpensive, as is pretty much everything up there, and you can stay in relative opulence for a reasonable amount. A Michigan vacation is relaxing and a great place to take your family.
