While Houston is humid during the summer, almost to intolerance, it can also be a great place to visit during the winter when other big cities are getting snow. If you travel to Houston you might also want to visit some of the outlying areas that are part of the Houston experience. For example, Brenham, Texas is a real find and many Houston natives have moved to this area making the daily commute to work in order to live away from the rat race. Brenham has a fair share of bed and breakfast choices or ranches, thus assuring that travelers really do get to see a different side of Texas.
There are two airports in Houston. The larger of the two airports is Houston Intercontinental and it is still expanding. If you have a choice, try to fly into Hobby Airport, as it is smaller, but much less congested.
