Taking horseback riding lessons are a terrific first step in becoming a good rider. Before you can start horse lessons, however, you need to know what type of riding style you'd like to learn. In order to help you find out what riding style will best suit your body type, personality, and equestrian goals, I have outlined the following information. Please read on!
Taking Horseback Riding Lessons:
There are many different styles of riding. From Western events to Hunter/Jump equitation, there are all sorts of options. Some styles are definitely easier than others; the type that is right for you depends entirely on your personal preference. Personally, I am an English rider who specializes in jump courses. While I love English riding, I have also participated in Western events and have found those fun as well.
Once you have decided the type of style in which you'd like to participate, the next step is to find a barn where you can begin your riding lessons. Depending on where you live, there are lots of barns and riding schools available. Make sure that the place you decide to train has qualified instructors and takes excellent care of its horses. If there isn't a riding school in your area, I recommend that you sign up for an intensive riding clinic such as the ones we have discussed in this website.
As someone who has been riding all of my life, I can think of no better way to learn about horses and develop equestrian skill than to take regular horseback riding lessons. For more information about English and Western riding styles, Dressage training, or if you would like information on centered riding, please don't hesitate to call on me. I would love nothing more than to help you!
