Throughout previous pages of this website, we've discussed several items that I believe all riders should bring on a horse riding holiday. At this time, however, I would like to identify the article which I believe to be of paramount importance during such a trip: a rider's journal.
Horse Riding Holiday Journal:
In my opinion, I do not believe that any rider should embark on a horse holiday without first packing a journal. Journals not only give riding trip participants the opportunity to carefully chronicle their adventures, but it also enables riders to make notes of their progress for future reflection. Easy to carry and fun to have along, riding journals are an absolute necessity.
The thing to realize about a horseback vacation is how much riders learn while participating. Whether you are a novice or an advanced equestrian, it helps to have something in which to record any riding tips and/or instruction you gain during the vacation. Keeping a journal of your daily activities as well as your riding notes gives you a text to which you can refer for years to come.
As someone who has kept a journal for all of my riding adventures, I don't know which is more fun: actually taking the trips or going back later and reading the journal entries! For more information on how you can benefit from a horse riding holiday or if you would like tips on finding the right travel agent, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would love nothing more than to help you!
