University travel most often revolves around educational journeys that encompass several sites that have a common theme. If "educational" is broadly defined, then the various cruises, land tours, and air/land combinations constitute an array of learning experiences that appeal to professionals, professors, students, and community members. A cruise through the Greek Isles might include stops of historical significance, with land tours to especially notable locations, such as Athens.
Alaskan cruises that include the breathtaking glaciers and carved bays often have stops at such important Inuit locales as Sitka, in order for passengers to view the famous totem poles. Caribbean cruises with layovers at Belize allow time for inland treks to the world-famous Mayan ruins that dot the jungle landscape. South Pacific ships often have an itinerary that unites sightseeing in this beautiful region with visits to World War II sites: Guam, Guadalcanal, and Bataan.
University Travel Is Educational
Although any university travel is arranged, first of all, to be interesting and entertaining, the educational element is all-important. A travel package for a single student, or for group tours, is organized so as to be a learning experience on several levels: academic, social, and geographical. China, for example, has become, in recent years, one of the primary travel destinations for people from all walks of life.
This ancient land has always been one of the most mysterious, fascinating, and exotic regions on earth. Academics study its language, political system, and infrastructure in order to make sense to the Western mind of China's inner workings. Visitors who just find China intriguing may be more interested in contact with Chinese in cities and villages. Archeologists and other scientists explore the many digs throughout China to discern human developmental history. University travel makes such journeys possible for people with all these varied interests.
