When someone refers to the "Old Key West Resort," the odds are that they are probably referring to Disney's Old Key West Resort. Other large chains are represented on Key West, so it should come as no surprise that Disney is there, too. According to some, the magic the Disney Corporation brings to their theme parks and other resorts has definitely "checked in" for a stay at the Old Key West Resort, too.
While definitely more expensive than your average motel, people who have stayed there do feel that the extra money is worth it. The special service you get from the Disney staff is said to be excellent, as you'd probably expect from a staff at a Disney-owned resort. But what else makes it a memorable place to stay?
It's Not a Theme Park, but There Is a Theme
While you won't exactly have Disney cartoon characters staying in your rooms with you, there is a distinct theme to the resort. It's designed to look and feel like Key West did over one hundred years ago. Most agree that it does fit the bill, too. Of course, they do provide plenty of modern amenities.
To meet your dining needs, they have the family-friendly Olivia's Cafe and the over-the-counter-style Good's Food to Go. There are also four different pools with playgrounds for the kids near each one. There is also a video game arcade or, if you're more active, a jogging trail, and courts for volleyball, tennis, and basketball.
