Marco Island Beaches

Marco Island beaches are some of the most beautiful that Florida has to offer. Featuring sun-bleached white sand and warm calm waters that open into the Gulf of Mexico, Marco Island's beaches are not only breathtaking, but remarkably soothing. Regardless of how busy your vacation schedule, you positively must set aside at least one day to enjoy the beaches at Marco Island.

Marco Island Beaches: Tigertail Beach
Marco Island is unlike any other city in Florida. The largest inhabited island of Florida's famed Ten Thousand Island community, Marco Island offers unparalleled views of the Gulf of Mexico as well as of Florida's mainland. Only 20 minutes from Naples, Marco Island visitors can enjoy five star shops and restaurants as well as magnificent beaches and warm waters.

Marco Island is very small; it only offers four miles of beach. Most of the island's resorts are located directly on the beach (which makes for visitor easy access). Tigertail Beach is Marco Island's most popular beach. Located on Hernando Drive, Tigertail Beach features approximately 30 acres of everything from popular beachside amenities to obscure natural parkland. One of the things I like most about Tigertail Beach is its close proximity to Sand Dollar Island; it's just a short walk away across Tigertail's tidal lagoon.

If you are planning a trip to South Florida any time soon, I strongly recommend that you visit Marco Island. Just one day of relaxation on Tigertail Beach is comparable to a week long vacation in Miami. For more information about Marco Island beaches, I urge you to contact the island's chamber of commerce.
