Key West Fishing Charter

Key West offers just about every type of fishing anyone could possibly want. There are seven popular types of fishing represented, with even more species of fish to catch. If you're a beginner or an expert, you can find fishing that will be to your liking.

For instance, are you interested in deep-sea fishing? There are quite a few different tours available that can take you out to fish everything from sailfish, marlin, king mackerel, tuna and more. All year long, the keys have a circulating stream of various fish that migrate through the area. This ensures that avid anglers will always have a variety of fish to keep them occupied.

Why Is Key West Fishing So Great?
Flats fishing in Key West has been called by some the best flats fishing in the world. If you're not familiar with it, fishing the flats means that you are looking for shallow water marine life atop flat portions of seabed. In Key West you can go after bonefish, shark, permit, tarpon, and even barracuda. If the flats aren't what you're interested in, perhaps back country fishing is more your speed. Back country is what locals call the areas of water around the Key West and Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuges.

While the land contained in the refuges is off limits to humans, some of the water isn't and certain types of fishing are allowed. For example, you might want to give wreck fishing a try. Quite a few ships have sunk in the area over the centuries and those wrecks have become home to a great number of fish. Heading out to these wrecks and dropping a line could result in your best catch yet.
