Key West Bed Breakfast

In Key West, you won't find a shortage of bed and breakfast-style inns. There are quite a few to choose from and each has its own background and history. Each also has its own particular atmosphere and tone that help to make your stay memorable in different ways.

One of the more historic bed and breakfast inns is called the Conch House. It was constructed in the traditional architectural style of the area--Victorian, with a strong Bahamian influence. It was built in the 1800s and was owned by Carlos Recio, who built the largest grocery store chain on Key West and supported Cuban revolutionaries.

The Variety of Key West Bed and Breakfasts
For a bed and breakfast with a more Bahamian influence, there is Archer House. It was designed with the style of architecture that is predominant in the Bahamas. It has two stories, two swimming pools, and several other amenities. It's located near the historic seaport in Old Town Key West. Or, you may want to choose the Red Rooster, a bed and breakfast that was built in 1905 as a private home. It now provides visitors with beautiful architecture and inexpensive rooms, making it popular with artists and musicians.

These are just a handful of the bed and breakfast inns that are available on the island. To learn more, talk to a travel agent on the Web or in person. Also, be sure to ask to see photos of the inns before you decide which one you will stay in, just to make sure there are no surprises for you when you arrive.
