After a long day of flounder fishing off the coast of Marco Island, the only thing that I want to do is eat. After all, if you have gone to the trouble of catching some scrumptious flounder, you may as well eat it! As someone who has caught a great deal of flounder in my day, allow me to offer you the following flounder recipe. Hopefully you will like it as much as I do.
The Perfect Flounder Recipe
For every 1â„2 pound of flounder, mix together 3 tablespoons of Italian bread crumbs, one-tablespoon fresh parsley (minced), one tablespoon of basil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. In another bowl, mix three egg whites. Next, soak each piece of flounder in the egg white mixture for a few seconds and then transfer it to the bread crumb mixture. Once all of your flounder is thoroughly breaded, transfer it to a baking dish and bake for seven minutes at 350 degrees.
While your flounder is baking, saute two tablespoons of butter, 1â„4 cup vegetable stock, 1â„4 cup white wine, two tablespoons of capers, and the juice of 1 lemon over medium heat in a saucepan. Stir constantly. Once your flounder is done, immediately pour this mixture over the fish and serve without delay.
I have found this dish to be the perfect complement to a hard day of flounder fishing. Then again, I have also found it to be delicious after a long day of working at the office (provided the flounder is fresh). Easy, fast, and mouth watering, this flounder recipe is absolutely one of my favorites.
