If you are an angler who is up for a serious challenge, then you might want to consider Cobia fishing. Large, long, and slim-bodied fish with a reputation for being exceptionally strong on the line, Cobia fishing is not for the weak at heart. As someone who loves to cast a line, I highly recommend fishing for Cobia.
There are many places to find Cobia, but my favorite spot is just off the coast of Marco Island, Florida. An easygoing town boasting a perfect climate and a relaxing ambiance, Marco Island is a terrific getaway. This is especially true for people who like to fish. Due to its close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico and Florida's Ten Thousand Island community, Marco Island offers all sorts of fishing journeys.
Cobia Fishing off Marco Island
For anglers up for adventure, I recommend Cobia fishing. Also known as Lemonfish, Ling, and Crabeater, Cobia fish are very sleek and ridiculously strong. Ranging in size from 10 to 140 pounds, Cobia can be caught by bottom fishing, trolling, spinning, and plug casting. The only rule when fishing for Cobia is not to underestimate their strength. If and when you manage to catch one, you had better hang on, or else it is likely to yank you right into the water!
As someone who truly loves to fish, I highly recommend Cobia fishing off Marco Island. There is nothing better, in my opinion, than a day of Cobia catch and release, followed immediately by a delicious meal prepared by one of the area's famed restaurant chefs, and then to drift off to sleep accompanied by the sound of rolling waves. Just thinking about it makes me want to pack my bags and go.
