One of the best Fiji luxury family resorts that I've personally stayed at, is Maravu. Maravu is one of two upscale resorts found on the Taveuni (pronounced Tah-vee-ew-nee) Island, which is known as the garden Island of Fiji. It's located about two km from the airport and sits high on a hill overlooking the ocean. The views are fabulous and their most recently expanded verandah offers great dining.
Taveuni itself is rugged and wet, but a very beautiful and pristine Isle. Fortunately, unlike some of the other Islands, the mongoose was never introduced to this area of Fiji, and consequently, many of the tropical birds that have vanished on the Viti Levu and Vanua Levu Islands still thrive there. Once the home of fierce warriors, Taveuni residents are proud and very hospitable people. Those that will greet you while at Maravu, will be of no exception.
