If you are planning a trip to Belize any time soon, do yourself a favor and book a few Mayan tours. The islands in and around Belize are full of ancient ruins and artifacts that are positively amazing to behold. Whether you are traveling with kids or adults, people of all ages can appreciate the awe and wonder associated with a trip to Mayan ruins. A vacation in Belize just isn't complete without a Mayan tour!
Participating in Mayan Tours:
There are several tours of Mayan ruins available in Belize. Depending on your budget and the amount of time you have, you can choose from dozens of options. One of my favorite Mayan trips is a tour of the Altun Ha Ruins. Ruins of an ancient Mayan city dating back some two thousand years, Altun Ha makes for a spectacular Mayan tour. Tours of this city typically cost around sixty dollars and require a brief boat ride.
Another trip that I whole endorse is one to Lamanai ruins. Considered the most impressive Mayan site in Belize, Lamanai is a magical place. The thing I like most about this trip is that in addition to exploring the site itself, visitors to Lamanai also get a glimpse of the local wildlife. Crocodiles, manatees, and howler monkeys are just a few of the many species you are likely to encounter on this trip.
