Taking a Caribbean sailing vacation is unlike anything you ever have or will experience. With the crystal clear waters providing spectacular views to the bottom of the ocean floor, you literally feel like you are weightless when sailing in the Caribbean. Regardless of what time of year you plan to visit or who you plan to take with you, I strongly recommend you spend at least one day of your trip on a sailboat.
Planning a Caribbean Sailing Vacation:
One of the biggest misconceptions about sailing in the Caribbean is that it requires a hefty pocketbook. In my experience, this is absolutely not true. Depending on your budget and your sailing preferences, you can choose to charter your own boat or take a pre-arranged trip with several other guests. The Caribbean is full of charter companies, many of which offer day trips aboard a sailboat for as little as $50.
Depending on where in the Caribbean you are staying, you can island hop courtesy of a chartered sailboat. While chartering your own boat in order to explore the surrounding islands might be a bit on the expensive side, you can minimize the expense by splitting the cost with other members of your party. If this is still out of your league, purchase a ticket aboard a sunset cruise ship and enjoy the ride.
Regardless of your particular budget, you can find a way to sail the Caribbean.
