Planning Caribbean Island Vacations:
One Caribbean island that is often overlooked by travelers is Guadalupe. Guadalupe actually consists of two islands that are connected, making the surface shape look like a butterfly. An overseas department of France, Guadalupe is an exceptional vacation spot boasting amazing cuisine, five-star shops and resorts, as well as pristine beaches. Guadalupe is also host to Pigeon Island and Cousteau Underwater Park, a favorite among divers.
If you are looking for an island with more of an English flavor, then I recommend Barbados. Known as "Little England in the Tropics", Barbados is an island paradise that "cherishes Anglo-Saxon civility, cricket, and high tea." One of the things I like most about Barbados is its sophisticated environment. The people of Barbados take education and enlightenment very seriously, and this state-of-mind plays into everything associated with the island.
