Ambergris Caye

In addition to its spectacular beaches, ancient Mayan ruins, and awe-inspiring coral reef formations, Ambergris Caye is also known for its magnificent cuisine. Whether you prefer fresh seafood creations or unique cuisine drawn from local recipes, you can't go wrong when it comes to Belize's culinary designs.

Dining in Ambergris Caye:
One of the best times to visit Ambergris is during lobster season. Lobster seasons in Ambergris starts June 15 and runs through the summer. The annual Lobster Fest takes place in July, but don't expect to get any deals. The average price for a lobster during this time is around twenty dollars pound. The cost is more than worth the expertise, in my opinion, of dining on fresh scrumptious lobster expertly prepared by one of Ambergris Caye's fine restaurants.

Most of the restaurants in and about Ambergris Caye serve fresh seafood in a variety of styles. For the best cuisine, I recommend sampling some of the local catch. Snapper is usually superb in Ambergris as is the crab. Don't be afraid to try local specialties, some of which are absolutely fantastic. For a particularly good meal in San Pedro, check out Elvi's restaurant. It's positively amazing.

Ambergris Caye is a fantastic place to spend any vacation.
