Ambergris Caye Belize

The largest island in Belize, Ambergris Caye is a spectacular vacation spot. Known for its friendly natives, relaxed atmosphere, and stunning beaches, Ambergris Caye Belize is the closest thing to heaven that Earth has to offer! As someone who has visited Ambergris Caye many times over, I would like to take this opportunity to offer some general information about this magnificent little island.

The Beauty of Ambergris Caye Belize:
Ambergris Island might be on the small side, but it is rich in history and culture. Once home to European pirates, Mayan citizens, and refugees from the Caste war, Ambergris Caye is as famous for its ancient relics and haunting Mayan ruins as it is for its stunning geography. If you are planning a trip to Ambergris Caye, I strongly recommend that you take at least one day to explore the island's historical remnants.

Though only twenty-five miles long and approximately one mile wide, Ambergris Caye is the largest of nearly two hundred islands that make-up the Belize coastline. What is perhaps most impressive about Ambergris Caye is its close proximity to the nearly 200-mile-long barrier reef that protects the island from the open Caribbean Sea. Divers from all over the world constantly flock to Ambergris Caye in order to explore its exceptional and distinctive marine life.

If you are planning a trip to Belize any time soon, then I strongly recommend that you spend at least one day in Ambergris Caye.
