Choosing a Eurail Pass can be a little like going to a Chinese restaurant. There are a lot of options, and they all sound quite similar: Eurail, Europass, Euro Rail Pass, Britrail Pass. Each offers you something special. What a Eurail Pass can do for you really depends on your travel plans and requirements.

The original Eurail Pass, for instance, is good in all 17 countries that grace the European rail network. Eurail Pass covers a one-hundred thousand miles, taking you to the places you choose, at a bargain price. If you're under 26, you're also eligible for a discounted student fare. Such a deal! These are just two examples of what a Eurail Pass can do for you.

If you're more inclined to limit your visit to a few countries, the Europass or Britrail Pass are better choices. The first covers the five most popular places (France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy) for an excellent value. And you can add a country--or two--of your choosing. The Britrail Pass enables you to travel just in the United Kingdom (Britain, Scotland and Wales), also for a very reasonable fee. So, a Eurail Pass allows you to customize your trip, too.

But say you only want to see Greece or ski the Alps. Then the single country pass, known as the Euro Rail Pass, will fulfill your needs best. Extensive, inexpensive travel in the country of your dreams is yet another way in which Eurail Passes make your European trip memorable and affordable.
