Do you plan on doing any Prague shopping during that special Czech vacation? There's a good chance you may not be able to resist. You'll find a plethora of neat shops selling native Czech jewelry, crystal, antiques, and much more.
Old Town Square, a place of commerce since the tenth century, is definitely worth checking out with its eclectic mix of shops, art galleries, and cafes. The Czech Republic is known for its cut glass and crystal and you'll find really great examples at many of the shops. Welceslas Square in New Town has taken over as the city's main shopping center and offers a great many options.
Prague Shopping with Crowns
Prague shopping is made easy with a lot of stores accepting most of the major credit cards. Although, you will probably run into smaller shops that don't and only accept Czech Republic crowns (CZK). You can convert traveler's checks to crowns at any of the foreign exchange banks and even some hotels. You can also get crowns out of ATM machines with credit cards or even your own ATM card.
Internet travel sites can be helpful with Prague shopping as many provide listings of all the types of businesses and their addresses. Many of these will even give recommendations on specific stores. Of course, strolling through the town center on a warm spring afternoon and figuring it out as you go is always fun, too.
