New Prague

New Prague, the city's most modern area, is replete with cafes, restaurants, and shops situated amid many historical buildings and monuments. Several of the finest hotels are also located in this area. Taking a guided tour through this section of town is a great way to learn about its history and discover all it has to offer.

During the day in New Prague you can walk around the areas of Charles Square and Welceslas Square and browse shops selling the Czech Republic's famous cut glass, crystal, and jewelry. The National Museum, with its wonderful collection of paintings and sculptures, is worth visiting. If you just feel like relaxing, the Franciscan Garden is a pleasant location for a quiet respite.

Once night falls, you can sample Czech cuisine in one of the many gourmet restaurants. Afterwards, there are acclaimed ballet, opera, and drama performances in the State Opera and National Theater to see. All in all, it's unlikely you won't find interesting ways to fill out your days.
