If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, you should definitely try to stay in one of Disney's many hotels. Once you're inside the majestic gates of Disney World, the "real world" ceases to exist. All of your needs are given prompt attention, and there is really no reason to leave. What I realized after staying in an Orlando hotel outside the park, however, was that this incessant pampering isn't always a good thing.

Staying in an Orlando resort outside the Disney gates gives you access to all of Orlando's theme parks. Rather than being confined to Disney's theme parks, you can take a trip to Orlando's Universal Studios and/or you can sample some of Orlando's famous nightlife without having to drive too far. Not only that, but Orlando hotels outside of Disney World are known for being much less expensive. Sure, you don't get the luxury of having Minnie Mouse bring you breakfast every morning, but with the extra money you save, you can spend more time on vacation!
