The current Spirit of Columbia was put into service in 1995 (the previous version, which has since been retired, was put into service in 1979). This is a 98 ton, small cruise liner. It is designed to house and entertain 78 passengers and is manned by a crew of 28.
It is 143 feet in length and measures 28 feet wide, with four decks. This is a boat design geared for sightseeing. It has the ability to get closer to interesting spots than a bigger ocean liner.
