St. Thomas is part of the group of Caribbean islands known as the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is the second largest island out of the group and lies near Puerto Rico, with the Atlantic Ocean on its northern side and the Caribbean Sea on the south. Your Caribbean Island vacation should include a stop on this gorgeous island.
St. Thomas is known for its mountainous terrain and amazing vistas. Drake's Seat is a popular lookout point, as well as Paradise Point, where tourists can ride a tramway up to a breathtaking view of the harbor below. Tourists can also get an awesome view by climbing the tower at Fort Christian, a historic landmark that is included in many of Charlotte Amalie's walking tours.
St. Thomas Is Heaven for Beach and Golf Lovers
Magens Bay Beach has been described as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and also has the calmest waters out of all the beaches on the island. St. Thomas is such an active island that none of its beaches are very peaceful or secluded, but the scenery of this popular Caribbean travel destination makes up for it.
Home to the famous Mahogany Run Golf Course, St. Thomas is also a golfer's paradise. This course is encompassed by gorgeous terrain, and one of the spots most spoken about on the course is the area known as "Devil's Triangle." In this spot, a couple of holes border cliffs that overlook the Atlantic Ocean.
St. Thomas also offers some of the best yachting, fishing, diving, and duty-free shopping. Many cruise ships offer Caribbean vacation packages that include stops at this destination.
