Caribbean Vacation Station

So, the time has come for you to take a holiday! There is no better place to visit for fun in the sun than the Caribbean Islands. The region has an endless array of experiences to offer, capable of converting many a daydream fantasy into reality.

The Caribbean is an expansive region that literally consists of hundreds of islands scattered across the Caribbean Sea. These islands stretch as far north as the Bahamas and as far south as Venezuela. Some of these islands remain unpopulated even today, while others have grown into busy urban meccas. Likely due to their breathtaking beauty and natural resources, many of these islands have a history of wars and battles over their possession.

Caribbean Vacation Station Provides Options for Travelers
Today, the result of that history is that these islands can offer a rich and endlessly broad range of experiences in culture. Although the influences of many cultures exist, the influence of the British, Dutch, Spanish, American, French, and Danish can most easily be identified among these islands. Depending on which island you visit, the languages will vary as well as the customs and the type of currency that is used.

Because each island offers its own unique blend of culture, activities and terrain, you'll want to make sure that you select the right island for you. In fact, it is even quite common for tourists to spend their Caribbean travel time on more than one island.

Variation Is the Way of Life
A Caribbean vacation presents you with a widely varied range of activities, including hiking, bird watching, sightseeing, shopping, and even partying under the stars. The selection of water sports is never-ending, and includes swimming, diving, snorkeling, bamboo rafting, sailing, yachting, scuba diving, waterskiing, and deep-sea fishing, to name a few.

Weather-wise, there certainly isn't a bad time of year to visit the Caribbean, but June to November are known as hurricane season and are prone to storms. The peak travel season, however, runs from December to April. During this period, you may encounter a more festive, active atmosphere. However, if you visit during other seasons, you're likely to have cheaper prices, and you won't have to deal with as many other tourists.

Accommodations and Packages Abound
Just as everything else varies in the Caribbean, the islands have an abundant, wide-ranging selection of accommodations. From hotels and resorts, to villas and cabins, the atmosphere and experience will be different, depending on which you choose. Each of these selections can also be rated on a scale that ranges from the luxurious, to the most basic. But whatever type of vacation you choose, happy traveling!
