Party planning is not easy. That is why there are so many people making their livings off of planning parties. Top to bottom, there are more little details and problems in putting together a party than most people realize. If you have not thrown a big party, you have no idea what I am talking about.
Efficient Party Planning
Efficient party planning begins with the initial plan. Before you can start anything, you have to know the amount of guests, the budget, what they expect (food and beverage), type of party, whose party, and what the occasion is. Once you have gotten this information the fun begins.
Based upon your budget, you have to find the location. If they serve food and liquor you are lucky. If not, a catering company is necessary. Then, you have entertainment, invitations, set up, staff, budget and time concerns. If you are the head party planner, everyone is going to be asking you a million questions at once. For formal parties, your responsibility triples.
Be prepared to not have an exceptional time at the party. If it is a party for you, then you should not be throwing it. During the party, you are going to be summoned by the staff, guests and patrons all night. That does not make for a great host or guest of honor. When the party is in your honor or you just do not have the time to throw it, have someone else plan it. The cost is well worth the time and stress.
