Gulf Island accommodations include bed and breakfasts, inns, vacation rentals and resorts. There's fishing and even golfing on the islands. One of the more popular and larger islands is Salt Spring Island. This island is 18 miles long and as many as 200,000 visitors travel to this island each year.

While the Gulf Islands may be a popular tourist vacation in western Canada, it doesn't seem like what most would call a touristy area.
