Typically, country cottages in the Ontario region will be located by a lake with a beachfront, and will have two or three bedrooms. Most cottages are available from May to September, and some stay open all year round. If you perform an online search, you will find that there is no shortage of country cottages available for rent in the northern Canada area.

Country Cottages versus Hotels
Some folks may find it hard to believe that a country cottage rental can provide more than a luxury hotel; however, it can be true. Many cottage rentals offer equal (if not better) accommodations for a lower cost than staying at a hotel. Also, unlike many hotels, cottage rentals can be all-inclusive and offer on-site dining as well as a wide variety of outdoor activities.

For example, if you are a family who enjoys skiing, the cost savings realized by vacationing at a country cottage rental rather than an opulent hotel can be quite significant. Couple the savings with the magnificent scenery and wilderness that you are certain to experience by staying in a country cottage--you almost can't compare the two types of lodging. Not to mention the fact that many country cottages offer a number of activities geared for children, so they are ideal for family vacations.

For the outdoor enthusiast, a country cottage is a much better choice for lodging than a hotel because of its location and ability to provide the proper guides and equipment. There are certainly a number of hotels located in the heart of the wilderness in Ontario--however, most do not offer their lodgers guided fishing and/or hunting trips. They also typically do not include the cost of meals and sporting equipment in the overall cost to vacation there. There are many different cottage resorts, so check around to see which ones offer the most inclusive prices.
