Most people decide to vacation in a rental cottage because this type of vacation can accommodate low and high budget vacationers. Cottage vacations in Canada provide vacationers with choices--they can kick back and relax or push themselves to physical limits by partaking in the many outdoor activities available. Either way, vacationing in a cottage provides you with time to daydream, reflect and enjoy.
Types of Cottages for Rent
There are three main types of rental cottages available to vacationers: private rentals, commercial properties and resort properties. A private rental is a cottage which is privately owned but rented out a number of times during the year. Commercial properties are also referred to as "housekeeping cottages," since this type of rental provides no cleaning service. If you opt for a commercial property you should also be prepared to bring your own towels and lines, and you will need to clean up prior to departing.
Resort properties are an alternative to hotels--most resorts have amenities that are found in luxury hotels or lodges. Often a resort will offer spas, tennis courts, fine dining, hot tubs and pools. Keep in mind that vacationing on a resort property does take away from the natural environment that can better be experienced in a private rental or commercial property.
