San Diego Lodging

Early last year, readers of Family Fun Magazine voted San Diego America's most "family-friendly" city--and it's no wonder why! With its beautiful geography, numerous quaint cities, and many family oriented activities, San Diego is the perfect vacation destination for children and adults of all ages! If you are planning a family vacation to San Diego, then you are in for a treat! To give you a better idea of what I mean, I have compiled a list of some of my favorite San Diego family activities.

San Diego Lodging
As we've already discussed, San Diego lodging is very important. The type of San Diego lodging in which you decide to stay during your trip depends entirely on the kind of vacation you are planning. For family vacations, I strongly encourage that your San Diego lodging be either one of the many San Diego beach front hotels or San Diego beach front rentals. Both of these San Diego lodgings provide the perfect atmosphere for family vacations, and are often quite reasonable in price.

Once you've decided on your San Diego lodging, I strongly recommend you plan on taking part in some family activities. The Wild Animal Park, for instance, is one of my favorite places to go in San Diego. Located just 25 minutes north of downtown San Diego, the Wild Animal Park is home to nearly 4,000 different types of rare and exotic animals. But unlike most zoos where the animals are locked in cages, the Wild Animal Park allows its animals to roam freely in vast enclosures that are made to resemble their natural territory. It is truly unlike anything you have ever seen! If you have the chance, take a break from relaxing in your San Diego lodging, and get to the Wild Animal Park.

Another great place to take your family is San Diego's Seaworld Park. A 150-acre park located on Mission Bay, Seaworld is home to hundreds of different types of marine life including penguins, sharks, polar bears, seals, whales, and manatees. What's especially interesting about Seaworld is that visitors are not only encouraged to look at these fantastic creatures up close and personal, but are also able to handle some of them! Dolphins and bat rays are just a few of the many marine animals that individuals can touch and pet!
