Okay, here's a very basic thing you need to look for in Mendocino lodging. It sounds ridiculously simple, but believe me, follow this guide and it will enhance your stay on the Mendocino coast a million fold. You need your own private bathroom.

"Of course!" you might shout, "that goes without saying! All Mendocino lodging has their own bathroom!" But that's not true. As the guides will tell you, not every Mendocino bed and breakfast offers a private bathroom for every guest room.

That's another of the reasons my husband and I were leery about bed and breakfasts at first. The specter of shared bathrooms in our Mendocino lodging seemed too much like summer camp. But we made sure to guide our way to a better bed and breakfast, with a private bathroom to every guest room.

Lodging Amenities
No matter where you stay in Mendocino, you need to check your guides and make sure the lodging is up to snuff. Ideally, you want the beds to be no smaller than queen-sized. And the best B&Bs in the guides will give you added amenities, like beautiful quilts and fresh flowers in your room.
