Mendocino has many accommodation choices, including hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts. Until our fifth anniversary trip, my husband and I had always tried to guide our way around, avoiding bed and breakfasts. I once had a bad B&B lodging experience in Europe, and he'd had a bad one in New Hampshire.
Yet after looking at some overly inflated Mendocino hotel rates, we decided to give bed and breakfasts another look. After all, it seemed that many of our guide books were rating the B&Bs even better than the Mendocino hotels. All we can say is that when it comes to lodging and making Mendocino accommodation choices, if you think you're not a B&B person, think again.
The bed and breakfast we chose was the best out of all the Mendocino accommodation choices. We loved it from the minute we set foot inside. Every guide that raved was right. In a place with the charm of Mendocino, bed and breakfast lodging is your best bet.
Mendocino Coast Lodging
The bed and breakfast lodging we chose was right on the Mendocino coast, just north of the actual town. The owners are willing to guide their customers into whatever type of room is right for them, be it a standard room or a luxury suite. The common rooms were all charming and cozy, and included a living room, dining room, and adorable front porch.
