If you are planning a trip to San Diego, you definitely must spend at least a day in La Jolla. The crown gem of one of America's most beautiful cities, La Jolla, California is a mere 15 minute drive from downtown San Diego, and my favorite coastal community. In addition to boasting some of San Diego's most beautiful beaches, La Jolla's cultural activities, world class shops and restaurants, and delightful residents make it an idyllic vacation destination.
La Jolla Hotels
If you are planning a trip to La Jolla, I strongly recommend you stay in one of La Jolla's many oceanfront hotels. In addition to their many amenities, delicious restaurants, and magnificent ocean views, most La Jolla hotels offer concierge service to assist new visitors with directions, local secrets, and activity suggestions. La Jolla is a very hip, active city with many activities to investigate. For your convenience, I have outlined a few of my favorites.
One of my favorite things to do in La Jolla is to visit the Steven Birch Aquarium & Museum. A thoroughly awe-inspiring and interesting natural art gallery, a trip to the Steven Birch Center is a delightful activity the whole family can enjoy! If you aren't in the mood for a museum, however, then I strongly recommend that you do a little shopping in La Jolla. Known for its interesting shops and one of a kind boutiques, downtown La Jolla is definitely a place to explore.
