Taking a trip along the California coast is an ideal vacation idea. Whether you decide to explore the sun-kissed beaches of Southern California or the romantic cliffs along the Northern California side, you can't go wrong with a PCH drive. And nothing, in my opinion, caps a PCH vacation like an extended stay a California coast bed and breakfast.

If you are planning to explore the PCH in any capacity, you positively must stay at several of the many local bed and breakfasts along the way. Not only are these places chock-full of romance and charm, but the owners typically have great ideas regarding scenic routes and local activities. Whether you stay for one night or seven, California coast B&Bs have a way of making you feel right at home.

Another reason I recommend B&Bs as your California Coast tour accommodation is the food factor. While stunningly beautiful, California's coast isn't exactly known for its plethora or fast-food joints. That being said, it's often helpful not to have to worry about where you are going to have breakfast when you're miles away from anyplace.
